Choose a nation and keep it
The tournament contains 48 national teams divided into 12 groups of four. Choose your team before starting and play the campaign with that nation. The teams and draw are the game’s own selection; it uses a 48-team structure but does not reproduce official participants, fixtures or knockout pairings.
Your first objective is to finish high enough in the group. Each group match is a series of five penalties per side. You alternate between shooting and defending, so the final score depends on both skills.
Points and qualification
A win earns three points, a draw one and a defeat none. Draws are allowed in the group stage: there is no sudden death there. Teams are ordered by points, goal difference, goals scored and then their team code as the final tie-break.
The top two from every group qualify. Eight of the twelve third-placed teams also advance, compared using points, goal difference and goals scored. That creates a round of 32. Check the standings after each match: a drawn series can still matter, and every scored or conceded goal affects the table.
Knockout rounds and sudden death
After the groups come the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. Only the winner continues. Each match starts with five penalties per side; if scores remain equal, the shootout continues in sudden death.
A sudden-death winner is decided after both teams have had the same number of attempts. One successful kick does not settle the match if the opponent still has its reply. There is no third-place play-off.
Saving a campaign
The game saves completed match results on your current device. Returning later lets you continue the tournament. An unfinished match is restarted if you leave, rather than preserving the exact penalty in progress.
The pause menu lets you stop during a match or return to the tournament screen. Starting a new World Cup replaces the previous campaign after confirmation. For help with the kicks themselves, use the shooting and goalkeeper guide.
